Welcome to Oregon Christian Writers!
We are writers from all walks of life - published and unpublished, students and retirees, fiction and non-fiction - with one goal: writing for Him.
Check out the links to the left to find out more about us, upcoming One-Day Conferences, our annual Summer Coaching Conference, and more!
We are an organization of Christian writers, serving the Pacific Northwest region - though we have members from many parts of the world. We offer three one-day conferences each year (winter, spring, fall) and a four-day coaching conference each summer, as well as newsletters, critique groups and much more!
2011 Summer Conference Countdown
Only one week till Summer Conference and it’s time for updates and some important reminders. We’ve planned an AMAZING conference and hope to see you all next week!
It’s not too late to register! Registrations have been pouring in, but we still have spaces in our morning coaching classes and all of our workshops and Nite Owls (including our brand-new critique session).
There’s still room in Hilltop Lodge, the A-frame cabins and the RV area. Area hotels are also listed on the website.
Nite Owls you won’t want to miss:
Get ready for your Editor and Agent Appointment with Caleb Breakey’s Pitch Clinic.
Sign up for a 15-minute one-on-one appointment with writing mentor Caleb Breakey, who loves talking with writers about their work and helping them find their strength.
Writing Center, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, 1:30–4:30
If you didn’t submit for an appointment through the manuscript submission program, you still have a chance to sign up for an appointment with an editor, agent, or professional writer Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. Sign-ups begin Tuesday, at 1:00. Bring extra copies of your articles and proposals to show editors and agents.
Mentor appointments are completely filled!
Author photos at conference! Need a new photo for your blog or website? Sign up at the Hospitality Desk for a sitting with photographers Michael Diehl or Sam Hall. Cost $40 for six photos on a CD.
Calling all Angels: If you’ve already registered for the conference and want to be an Angel (you should have received an email from Kristen Johnson about this), get back to her quickly since the Angel spots are filling up.
Books and Gifts: Our nightly drawings are extra special this year: craft books and writing courses by best-selling authors, bookstore gift certificates, and free tuition for the 2012 Summer Conference. Every conferee will receive a free book from a certain very generous, best-selling author.
You can order CDs of Mindy Starns Clark’s and Susan May Warren’s inspiring keynote speeches as well as all coaching classes, workshops, and agent and editor panels. A Sound X Design order form is available on the website and at conference. Order by the conference dates to get lower prices and free shipping.

What's going on with the OCW website?
You may have noticed the new address change - you can access our website whether you use the .com or .org version.
We have discontinued the Members Only section on the website, so you will no longer need a username or password. Everything on the website is viewable by the general public. The new perk for members (besides reduced fees for conferences) will be a monthly (or perhaps more often) e-mail sent only to members that will include market updates and other helpful information.

Membership: membership@oregonchristianwriters.org
Founded in 1963, we are an organization of writers, both amateur and professional, who are Christians. Our members write for both ministry and markets, and subscribe to this doctrine: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic (universal) church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. OCW’s doctrinal statement is the Apostles' Creed, to which our presenters adhere. Our aim is to glorify God and to help writers grow in their craft. OCW does not necessarily endorse the theological opinions expressed by its presenters in print or spoken word.
